Irish Country Meats is one of Europe’s leading lamb processors, combining craftsmanship, innovation and quality in every cut.
We’re proud to be globally recognised for innovation in the lamb category, giving our customers a true competitive edge.
Through our partnerships with farmers and producer groups we’re helping to protect the environment and secure the future of Irish farming.
At Irish Country Meats, we share ABP Food Group’s commitment to measurable, science-based sustainability targets. These goals are independently set and verified to ensure that our progress is both transparent and aligned with the global ambition of the Paris Climate Agreement.
Our focus is reducing emissions across our entire supply chain, from our own operations to on-farm activity.
Scope 1: Direct emissions from our own operations. We’ve already made significant progress in this area and are targeting a further 27% reduction by 2030.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the energy we purchase and use. We’re also targeting a 27% reduction in this area by 2030.
Scope 3: Emissions from our wider supply chain and packaging. This is where we can make the greatest long term impact and it’s an area we’re particularly focused on, with a 17% reduction targeted by 2030.
Because the majority of emissions occur at farm level, we’re working closely with farmers to develop practical ways to reduce on-farm emissions through genetics, animal health and feed efficiency trials. Together we’re showing that environmental and economic sustainability can work hand in hand.
